New Scots Strategy Consultation

Easter is also the most important holiday in Ukraine

On the 10th of February, 2024, Vitalii Diakov and Hanna Dushkova organised the New Scots Strategy Consultation with the Ukrainians Together Community in Dundee. The New Scots Strategy is part of the Scottish Government’s policies, which aims to make Scotland a fair and safe country for everyone. The strategy is led in partnership by the Scottish Government, Council of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) and the Scottish Refugee Council.

The strategy helps organisations across Scotland to work together to support refugees, asylum seekers and communities. The New Scots vision is a welcoming Scotland where refugees and asylum seekers can rebuild their lives from the day they arrive.

The discussions facilitated by Hanna and Vitalii helped participants present their views and exchange experiences. It was also a good opportunity for ‘Ukrainians Together’ to work on new policies that improve the lives of forced displaced people, refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland.
